Episode 69: The Egan Murders

On New Year’s Eve in 1964, a woman named Shirley Coleman was at home with her five children when she received a knock at her farmhouse door. It was a husband and wife that Shirley had never met. They were clearly shaken up and asked to use her telephone to call the police. The couple described a grisly scene that they had discovered at a rest stop along Route 81, and the crime would haunt Jefferson County, New York for years to come. This is the story of the Egan Murders.
